About us

‘Polski Express’ is a lifestyle on-line magazine, in Polish language, aimed at the members of the Polish community in Ireland. We cover a wide variety of issues, from culture and art reviews, to politics and current issues, integrationa and civil society, to business, career development and ethnic entrepreneurship.

Established in March, 2006 as a glossy fothnightly magazine, in 2009 we have decided to follow the digital revolution and re-vamped ourselves as an online culture&arts magazine. We boast more than 4,500 subscribers and keep them informed on what’s hot&important in Dublin and across the country.

Profile: ‘Polish community in Ireland, regardless the economic downturn, is still strong and a vibrant one, with over 150,000 Poles making Ireland their second home – says Anna Pas, an editor of Polski Express.  – ‘Although it’s fair to say the profile of the community has changed over the years: many blow-ins probably have left the country already while those who stayed are more likely to settle for good. Their kids went to Irish schools, they might have bought houses in Ireland, they have upskilled and landed a nice job… And these people make our readers: witty, well-integrated & highly interested in local art scene, culture and Irish produce. After all, we  all share the same passions, interests and information as the rest of the Irish society, whether it’s the bank’s new bailout, corky festival in Galway or The Villagers latest album … It’s up to us at Polski Express to keep our readers up to date’ – Anna promises.

Reader’s Profile: ‘Polski Express’ is targeting this group of Polish community, which represents people at 20 to 40 years of age, living in Ireland for a longer while, well established and for whom Ireland has become their second home. This covers a wide-ranging cross section: students, graduates from Polish universities, bankers, architects, IT-specialists, industry and trade workers.

Our magazine is aimed at people like us: open-minded, curious about current political and social affairs, interested in what’s new in the music, movie, and art world. We actively participate and promote integration of Polish community with modern Irish society by media sponsorship & organising of the cultural, sport and art events.

Partners & supporters: We sent regular mailings to our 4,500-strong database, support cultural events and promote innovative projects and local entrepreneurs. We work closely with various state agencies (Dublin City Council, Polish Embassy in Dublin, HSE, National Gallery of Ireland, Irish Film Institute, CrossCare, National Libraries etc.) and non-govermental bodies, both Irish and immigrant-led (Forum Polonia, Centre for Creative Practices, D-Light Studios, Mad Art Gallery, Cairde, Parasol, Psychology Hub, Pomoc Bezrobotnym, WOSP) to name only a few.
